We work with parents, grandparents and homeowners across the area who want something sturdier and more personal than a store-bought playset — a treehouse, playhouse or backyard structure built for their actual tree, their actual yard, and the kind of imaginative, out-the-door-after-breakfast play that makes a childhood memorable.

Site visit and plan
We come look at your tree and yard in person, check what it can actually support, and put together a plan — including alternatives if your tree isn't a good candidate.
Build
Once the plan is set, we build it. Most projects take several weeks from the start of construction to a finished treehouse. Real craftsmanship isn't a weekend job, and we'd rather take the time to do it right.
Walkthrough
Before we call it finished, we walk the completed structure with you, so you know exactly what you're handing over to your kids.

It started with
one dad and one tree.
In 2001, Rob Patterson's kids wanted a treehouse, so he built them one. A fairly ordinary reason, and not one that came with any grand ambitions attached.
It didn't stay a one-off. Neighbors and other families started asking, and building custom treehouses gradually turned into what Rob does full-time. Falconhurst is still run the way that first project was: one builder, working through one family's yard and one family's idea at a time.

Not every tree is a good candidate — it depends on the species, size, health and root structure. Part of our process is assessing your tree before we design anything, so you'll know early on whether it's a good fit or whether a different approach, like a ground-level or post-supported build, makes more sense.
That's fine. Our backyard and playhouse builds don't require one — we can design something that works with the space you have.
Most of our elevated treehouses are built around 8 to 10 feet off the ground. That's tall enough to feel like a real escape without needing an elaborate access system to get up and down safely.
Most projects take several weeks, from the start of construction to a finished, walked-through treehouse. Fully custom designs can take longer, depending on the scope.
